Free agency release tool

A launch checklist your team can actually close.

Use this before a client website goes live. It is deliberately bounded: one release scope, one primary conversion journey, reproducible evidence, and a named rollback path.

01

Scope the release

  • Write down the exact staging or production URL set, launch date, and owner for go/no-go decisions.
  • Choose one primary journey—lead, booking, signup, or checkout—and define its visible success state.
  • List excluded roles, regions, browsers, integrations, and real-purchase steps so the test does not imply broader coverage.

02

Complete the journey

  • Start from the page a real visitor sees, follow every step, and confirm the promised destination appears.
  • Verify required fields, validation errors, loading states, confirmation copy, and the destination inbox, CRM, or order record.
  • Repeat the same journey at a 390px mobile width without horizontal overflow, hidden controls, or keyboard traps.

03

Smoke-test the release

  • Check navigation, launch CTAs, legal links, redirects, HTTPS, canonical URLs, metadata, robots rules, and the sitemap.
  • Inspect console errors and failed network requests on the launch page and primary journey.
  • Capture a performance snapshot and obvious regressions without treating an arbitrary perfect score as acceptance.

04

Make evidence actionable

  • Record each finding with timestamp, URL, viewport, reproduction steps, severity, and an observable acceptance check.
  • Keep the client-safe summary separate from the private technical appendix and internal implementation details.
  • Name the fix owner and rollback step before production changes; re-test only the agreed findings after correction.

Acceptance rule

“Looks good” is not a test result.

A finding closes only when its original reproduction steps pass, the intended destination records the action, and the rollback path remains available. Keep unresolved high-severity findings visible in the launch decision.

Need an independent pass?

One URL. One journey. One re-test.
